Namibia Sets the Stage to Become Africa’s Next Energy Powerhouse

Windhoek, Namibia – The 3rd Namibia Oil and Gas Conference (NOGC 2025), themed “From Exploration to Action – Positioning Namibia as the Next Energy Frontier,” will take place from 12–15 August 2025 in Windhoek. As Namibia positions itself as a rising force in Africa’s energy space, the conference will gather global industry leaders, investors, policymakers, and innovators to share knowledge, forge partnerships, and explore new frontiers in energy.

Hosted by the Economic Association of Namibia (EAN) in partnership with the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) and the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF)—and with strategic partnerships from NAMCOR and SNC Incorporated—the event is officially endorsed by Namibia’s Ministry of Mines and Energy.

This year’s edition has expanded significantly, doubling its exhibition space in response to growing demand. A broadened networking programme aims to enhance collaboration and promote sustainable development across the sector.

NOGC 2025 Highlights:

🔹 12 August – Pre-Conference Masterclass: Local Content and Suppliers
Focusing on capacity building, this session will guide participants—especially SMEs and emerging suppliers—on how to engage with major players in Namibia’s growing energy industry.

🔹 13–14 August – Technical Conference (New for 2025)
A dynamic two-day technical programme featuring insights from industry experts, policy influencers, and innovators on topics ranging from exploration to new technologies and regulatory frameworks.

🔹 15 August – NIPDB Business Matching Sessions
Tailored B2B sessions connecting local and global investors with Namibia-based companies exploring opportunities in the oil and gas value chain.

Strategic Themes and Industry Outlook

With Namibia advancing from exploration to implementation, the conference will explore:

  • Updates on offshore discoveries and the Kudu Gas Field
  • Investment strategies in infrastructure and downstream development
  • Local content and workforce readiness for the energy transition
  • The strategic role of natural gas in achieving a low-carbon economy

Paulo Coelho, Manager of Marketing, Communications & PR at NAMCOR, stated:
“We’re excited about this year’s theme—From Exploration to Action—as it signals our transition to real industry growth. We urge young Namibians to get involved, ask questions, and bring their ideas into this transformative sector.”

Jesaya Hano-Oshike, Deputy Chair of the Economic Association of Namibia, noted:
“We’re doubling the exhibition space this year and introducing a mentorship platform for young professionals. From just over 1,000 delegates in 2024, we anticipate even greater turnout and impact in 2025.”

2024 Key Milestones:

  • 1,012 Delegates (up from 841 in 2023)
  • 29 Sponsors/Partners
  • 42 Exhibitors
  • 35 Participating Countries
  • 71 Speakers

Margreth Gustavo, Executive Director at NIPDB, added:
“In 2025, we’re focusing on unlocking supply chain opportunities, strengthening local content, and accelerating youth employment. The future of energy in Namibia lies in our people, not just our offshore discoveries.”
